The Medical Fitness Solution is Coming
THE MEDICAL FITNESS SOLUTION IS COMING SPRING 2025
Last month, we explored how genetics and epigenetics are transforming personal health. This month, we're sharing a groundbreaking update in medical fitness and why it's set to transform how we treat one of New Zealand's most common and frustrating health challenges: musculoskeletal pain.
Let's talk facts:
- 32% of Kiwis live with chronic back pain
- 24% suffer from hip, neck, or shoulder problems
- 18% report persistent knee pain
Despite these staggering numbers, the most common response is still a painkiller prescription. The most searched medical term globally? Musculoskeletal pain. Clearly, New Zealanders are desperate for real, lasting solutions and were answering that call.
Coming Spring 2025
At The Exercise Room, we're proud to announce that this spring, we will launch a revolutionary medical fitness facility in MEDICAL FITNESS NZ combining hands-on, practical exercise rehabilitation with AI-powered, medically certified technology. This will be New Zealand's first program of its kind, offering targeted, precision-based recovery plans for back, hip, shoulder, and knee pain all tailored to each individual.
What's coming:
- ISO-medically certified exercise devices
- AI-powered pain tracking and progress tools
- Personalised protocols for musculoskeletal recovery
- A new benchmark in medical fitness outcomes
This isn't just a program. It's a solution created for the 1 in 3 people who have tried everything and are still in pain. We're rewriting the approach to physical rehabilitation from reactive treatment to proactive restoration.
Don't wait for the official launch. Act now. Pre-book a discovery consultation today.

Let's move beyond outdated, inconsistent treatments. Join us in bringing real medical-grade relief to New Zealanders this Spring.

EMERGING HEALTH TRENDS
Molecular Hydrogen: Small Molecule, Big Impact
You may start hearing more about molecular hydrogen (H₂), and for good reason. Backed by growing scientific research, H₂ is showing impressive potential in supporting everything from inflammation and oxidative stress to cellular energy and recovery.
Unlike typical antioxidants, hydrogen selectively targets harmful free radicals (ROS) without disrupting the helpful ones your body needs for normal function. This makes it a smart option for managing oxidative stress which is a major factor in aging, fatigue, and disease.
It also plays a role in reducing chronic inflammation, which is linked to conditions like arthritis, cardiovascular issues, and gut disorders. Rather than shutting down the immune system, hydrogen helps restore a healthy balance.
On a cellular level, H₂ supports mitochondrial health - your body's energy factories, helping to improve ATP production and reduce fatigue. This is especially exciting for those managing long-term fatigue or for athletes wanting better endurance and recovery.
With over 150 clinical studies already exploring its potential, hydrogen therapy is emerging as a safe, natural, and effective option for both general wellness and specific health concerns. Its tiny molecular size allows it to penetrate deep into cells, even crossing the blood-brain barrier, making it one of the most accessible and bioavailable therapeutic gases.
We're watching this space closely - H₂ might just be the future of smart, science-backed recovery and inflammation support.
You may have seen Emile supporting a Ilumivitae hydrogen water bottle. We now have hydrogen water bottles available to purchase through The Exercise Room. These bottles infuse your water with molecular hydrogen in minutes perfect for daily recovery, hydration, and long-term health support.

COACHES CORNER
Are Power Grip Bands Worth It?
If you've ever found your grip giving out before your muscles do, wrist straps might be your new best friend. These handy accessories are designed to support your grip during heavy pulling movements like deadlifts, rows, and pull-ups, helping you focus on the target muscles rather than worrying about your hands giving out first.
When to use them:
Use straps during your heaviest sets, especially if grip fatigue is holding you back. They're not a crutch, but a smart tool to push past plateaus. Don't rely on straps all the time. It's still important to train raw grip strength regularly.
Wrist straps can be a game-changer when used with purpose. You'll find them here, near the adjustable pulleys (see below).
MEMBER OF THE MONTH – GREIG ALLISON
Greig is a genuinely great guy who's been part of the fabric of The Exercise Room almost since day one. Over the time Emile and Jason have been training him, he's made some incredible progress on his personal health journey.
He's the kind of member every gym dreams of - consistent, committed, and always giving 100% in every session. But more than that, Greig has supported ER in ways that go well beyond just turning up to train.
It's been an absolute pleasure working with him, and we're lucky to have him as part of our community.
